The participant progresses through the course by completing the modules successfully.  You will be awarded a Certificate of Completion of the Medical Interpreter Program upon successful completion of all the modules.

Course Description

Case Study Approach: Enhanced comprehension, retention, and comfort level

Our interpreter training program is designed to equip the participant with knowledge, skills and comfort level to practice in the health care setting.

Using a case-study approach and online course methodology, we integrate the study of basic anatomy with medical terminology in order to enhance comprehension and retention of the subject matter. Participants complete discussions, assignments, and other learning activities, in addition to the course material. 

The Medical Interpreter Program is instructor-led and interactive. It is heavily grounded in anatomy and medical terminology.

Our course is based the standards of the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA). 

Our instructor is a member and Kansas State Representative of the IMIA, and she adheres to the ethical standards of the organization.

Interpreter Skills Video Evaluation: Included if purchasing the PrePaid Package.

Challenge Exam for the Anatomy and Medical Terminology if you have a medical background but not licensed in the US.
This means you will take the exam that would test your knowledge of what we offer in our program.
Then you will receive a Certificate of Proficiency in Anatomy and Medical Terminology. Credit for 25 hours: $150.00

Grading criteria:

Module exam: 70%

Participation in learning activities: 30%

Passing grade for certificate: 70%

Practicum Certificate:

Evaluation of documentation of satisfactory completion of at least 40 hours onsite medical interpretation OR two written evaluations each from Supervisors, Providers, and Clients. Practicum Evaluation is based on the IMIA Standards of Practice for Interpreters.

To receive a Certificate in Medical Interpreting, you can either document your Practicum Hours, or have your Oral Interpreter Skills evaluated.

Oral Interpreter Skills Evaluation: Telephonic evaluation of oral interpreter skills (in place of Practicum)

The evaluation includes two sessions -  first, an initial evaluation with recommendations, and a second session, for testing. 

Interpreter Skills Coaching and Evaluation (Optional)

Send us an online video of your performance and we will review, evaluate, and make recommendations based on the IMIA standards of medical interpretation. Includes one revision and re-evaluation.
